Petrol Ofisi operates Turkey’s largest fuel products logistics network. There are 23 ships in the Company’s time charter fleet, with a total capacity of 164,500 DWT.

About 60% of the approximately 8 million tons of fuel products marketed by Petrol Ofisi is procured from Tüpraş, while the remaining 40% is imported. In 2006, 70% of the products supplied by Petrol Ofisi were supplied by ship, 7% by road tankers and 22% through pipelines. Imports are made under yearly agreements and spot purchases. Main import countries are Russia, Romania, Israel, Ukraine, Libya, Greece, Italy, Malta, Egypt and Bulgaria.

At the end of 2005, a trading room was established to monitor international oil exchanges on a daily basis, improve the effectiveness of foreign procurement and stock management, and minimize price risks. Financial protection is achieved through diesel futures and swaps.

The Petrol Ofisi Logistics Network consists of eleven fuel products terminals in Trabzon, Samsun, Kırıkkale, Derince, Haramidere, Mudanya, Kepez, Aliağa, Antalya, Mersin and İskenderun, an LPG terminal in Aksaray and a liaison office at the Batman Refinery.

In 2007, the Trabzon, Samsun, Haramidere, Mudanya, Aliağa, Antalya, Mersin, İskenderun and Kırıkkale Terminal Laboratories were expanded to handle the level-two tests specified in the Energy Market Regulatory Board’s Technical Criteria. In addition, the Derince Terminal was equipped with a state-of-the-art fuel products laboratory that cost USD 2 million.

Accreditation applications were submitted to TURKAK for all terminal laboratories. Accreditation exemption was obtained until 1 July 2008. With these new applications, the quality of the fuel products provided at the company’s terminals to customers and dealers is now under strict control.
